Media Experience Envirnment

Clue

Clue OS is a free and open source environment to provide builtin functions like multimedia player, home automation, integrated webcam and multiple networking pre-configurations (e.g. repeater, router, hotspot, etc.), all of them out of the box, easy to deploy and use!

Clue OS bundles on top of Debian packages several software modules to bring you a complete Media Experience over Raspberry Pi hardware platforms, integrated various automation devices and applications.

Clue OS uses a dedicated bootloader, provides a proprietary system management tool which exposes system configurations and functionalities to external modules and applications over a specialized CLI, and renders media center as main user interface, fully integrated with system utilities.

On top, Clue OS brings surveilance functionalities through a custom built module using OpenCV libraries and exposes environment services for automation using iOS HomeKit and Siri.

MCPi

MCPi (Media Center for Pi) is built around an older version of Kodi, providing a complete redesign and reimplementation of main the components and addons, and publishing a dedicated repository for specific packages (plugins/addons). MCPi is fully integrated with Clue Setup module (system management utility). making available system functions (related to RPi applience)that might be configured or updated through connected display and remote control.

MCPi has a dedicated web interface to manipulate all media player functions and also provides support for remote controls, CEC and DLNA compatible media devices or peripherals and for iOS devices through AirPlay adapted libraries.

PiCam

PiCam is a surveillance service within Clue OS designed for motion detection and content streaming. The application has been designed and developed for Raspberry Pi but might be installed and run on any system (most likely Linux systems) that has attached cameras and has in-place all software prerequisites.

PiCam is developed around OpenCV and PiCamera libraries and works with both USB and Pi cameras.

Bridge

Bridge is a dedicated Clue OS module, able to emulates the iOS HomeKit API and provide a bridge between Raspberry Pi and HomeKit environment through iOS devices.

Bridge module contains Homebridge service and a dedicated plugin to publish various Clue OS services as third-party accessories within HomeKit network.

Since Siri supports devices added through HomeKit, Bridge module is able to react when the end-users ask Siri to control devices that are already registered in HomeKit.
